Travel Demand Forecasting Analyst

RSG has two openings in Portland, Oregon. Duties will include: Transportation model design and development, evaluation of travel forecasts, and documentation of this technical work; Modeling activities include specification and estimation of models (using TRANSCAD, CUBE, VISUM, EMME), Perform data analysis (in ArcGIS, SQL, R, SPSS), Implement travel demand models by scripting and/or software development (in Python, C++, C#, Java); Use code versioning software (GitHub); Analyze travel survey data to understand travel markets, and integrate results into travel models; Estimate statistical models using GPS-based travel data (in NLOGIT/LIMDEP, R) and incorporate into travel models; and Calibrate and validate model components for advanced forecasting models of regions and states throughout the US. Masterís degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering and one year pre-or-post bachelorette degree, full or part time experience in any suitable position related to transportation modeling.  Education in lieu of experience will be accepted.  Education and/or experience must include: Use of four-step travel demand modeling process and choice modeling theory and application, using transportation modeling software such as TransCAD, CUBE Voyager, or Python; Working with statistical packages such as SPSS, SAS, GAUSS, MATLAB or R and estimating statistical models using NLOGIT/LIMDEP or R and implementing into travel models; Use of mapping and spatial analysis software such as ArcGIS; Use of multiple programming languages such as Python, C#, C++, VB or Java for software development and testing; and Integrating and analyzing data including use of database software such as SQL.
